Awaiting the green shoots of spring near Denton - Sussex - 17.3.2016

Awaiting the green shoots of spring near Denton - Sussex - 17.3.2016
The chalky fields at the top of the hill have been ploughed and were having seeds planted. The trees in the foreground, which form a barrier between the Ouse Estuary Nature Reserve and the busy A259, coast road, are just beginning to show signs of buds. There are some Willows with Pussy-willow flowers on them.

A beautiful weekend for you

Thanks, Annemarie.
I often go past the fields in the background on a bus. They are some of the most actively cultivated fields in this area. That means that there is a constant change in the patterns of crops - different crops and different stages of growth create an everchanging tapestry.
I hope you are having a pleasant weekend. It is grey and damp here.

Good to see you still taking landscapes Phil. Yes, we are all waiting for spring now.

Cheers and thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

Thanks, Herb. Actually this is a relatively old snap. I don't get out and about so much now. I am more creaky myself and my wife is house-bound except when we get taken on trips out. Apart from shopping, I try to get out with my grand-daughter occasionally and I grab the chance to do a bit of railway snapping when specials come this way, or when a train passes by while on the way home from the shops.

Ah, I quite understand Phil. None of us are getting any younger. I had not noticed the date but the photo stands on its own merit. I hope you do manage to get some new photos again. Like you, I have a passing interest in trains too.
