Pam J club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubThey are very very independent at that size and stage !
Pam J club has replied to Esther clubBut.... they simply are not destructive here !!
These are not urban raccoons... these are shyer country cousins. In 4 years here I have has ONE broken feeder.. and that was old and on its way out. Yes.. they will take suet and seed balls.. so I dont put it out.
My human (well I hear a rumour he is human) neighbour is more asinine and grief than ANY wildlife is....
I make one other exception... the Copperhead.. those I loath as they are mean and nasty and will charge a human. Snakes per se I dont have a real problem with..., Copperheads I do !

Greetings, Udo
I know similar situations from my Wife...
Interestingly, I know the area has plenty of coons, skunks, possums, but we never see them (smell the skunks sometimes though!)...and yet, as a kid in the heart of San Francisco, I saw these guys regularly! They live on Mt. Davidson, which backs up to my dad's house and is home to all sorts of animals (though no large animals like deer).
Have a lovely weekend Pam
