I miss having a dog and playing outdoors with them...maybe I should put my girls on leashes and take them for walks. LOL, what an image that would make.

Jim.... till I can to the USA... "indoor cats" were unknown to me.

I understand here they are more likely to be part of the food chain "out there". But it is still a different concept to me.

In England.... my cats always came for walks in the woods with my dogs....no leashes.. but they walked with us.

Many years ago I used to see Londoners in Regents Park with cats on leashes... and having fun.

I know several here in the US that walk their cats.... so.. just maybe it isnt as unusual as you think....

My previous 4 girls were outside with supervision cats. One day Scamp jumped the backyard fence chasing a squirrel and we never found her again. Since that day strictly indoor only for my children. The traffic is another concern...I have seen many a beloved pet dead in the road. I once saw a cat stroller sold at PetSmart that intriqued me. Encased in mesh so they can't jump out.

I understand... here there is no traffic... but we have predators . I have seen the strollers. seems pointless to me.. they cant smell and walk and just enjoy... but the harness and leash would work. Still seems odd to me... so different in England. here I cant have a cat... Lucas would be ok... Flicka... no.... high prey drive. Would love to have cats again... but I do look after next door idiots barn cats best I can. They dont.. so I do what I can.
