Happy Anniversary in White&Red
Today we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its Independence after 123 years of foreign oppression.
So if today evening you see white and red illuminations around the world, they will be just for that.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa,
the pyramids in Egypt,
the Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking Rio de Janeiro and
the big wheel on the waterfront in Santa Monica, California,
are on the list to join the event :)

It is not the Polish flag, it is a tent shot some years ago at a reenactment event, but I liked its colors and saved it for the occasion : )

I wonder what my great-aunt would say about it. She was born in 1900. She passed away in 1986, but the stories she told me when I was a little kid make me feel like I was there when it all happened 100 year ago.
