Found, by chance, with refreshing lack of healh-and-safety mania, or indeed "restoration".
This whole place was a really powerful antidote to the experience I had at Oradour (see later in this set) where the well-intentioned "preservation" of the place had robbed it of all emotion for me.

It's the distance I love, and the mist in it.
The tour guide insisted on setting up camp right in front of where I was trying to get this shot, and not moving for what seemed like... ever. So, she ends up in the photo, which may or may not add to it, so I don't really mind!
