Surface

The whole of Sefton Park is being ripped to pieces, with the ultimate aim of putting it all back together again. Various people are deeply unhappy at the collateral damage: a number of trees and, with an official Environment Agency license, birds' nests, even with eggs or chicks in, at the height of waterfowl nesting season. This little spot seems untouched, for now, apart from the low water level revealing a lot of silt. And the lost-looking birds wandering about.

Can you see the twisted, contorted figure that I can't help but see?

Polish & Scottyish

An oldy, since I'm archiving some stuff. Adam gets busy while Scotty drinks beer. I won't suggest that this is an example of anything... (In actual fact, they're trying to get a frisbee out of a tree!)

Bluebell season

07 May 2008 73
More of an ethereal glow than a sea of blue. I'm not blaming the camera: it was something about the light of this place, and also, I fear, I've missed the bluebells' peak by a day or so.

Unexpected exposure

This fascinates me: my eyes saw Laura perfectly exposed (of course) and the reflection in the window was very dark. The camera decided to attempt to correctly expose the window instead. This is a bit of a crop (or what the heck kind of framing would it have been!? ;) ) It's also a huge manipulation of the light levels in what was a RAW image. I love the purple sheen the top-right of the window has taken on. That's not clipping, it's just a quality of that glass. There's clearly something to be explored and exploited here.

Mountain sheeps II

I shooed them back into their field before they fell into the path of a car. (This is just after a blind bend.) Silly children!
