Langstone Harbour at Low tide

Langstone Harbour at Low tide
It was a gloomy day, so black and white seemed to be the way to go.

I remember when I was a young lad, there was a wooden pontoon tied to that post, and us kids used to swim out to it and dive off it or just lie in the sun. Then someone invented "health and safety" and that was the end of that :-((

homaris, Luis Miguel, MaggsMep, Karl Hartwig Schütz and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

Looking like one borrowed from your grandads photo album Keith. A great feeling of age with this one. Well done.

Cheers. Herb

Not my grandad Herb, but my Dad was a keen amateur photographer when he was younger and he always took a lot of photos of us kids.

Glad you like the photo and thanks for dropping by..!!

Thank you so much Güni..........I'm happy that you like my composition and the black and white processing. It brought back some good childhood memories.

You're right..........times are very different now and a lot of children stay indoors using phones, tablets and computers to experience the world. It's a bit sad I think!

Thanks for your lovely comments as always. Have a nice evening my friend, best wishes, Keith.

Le moment décisif -- the birds fly and and help make the eyes draw in from the boat. Trust me.

I suppose it depends on your point of view Stephan. I quite like low tide as you see things that would usually be hidden. Thanks for dropping in and commenting.

I understand perfectly what you're saying. I'm far from the sea of my childhood. But I have very fond memories. At low tide, we would collect shellfish and worms to fish. We would sell them at a makeshift stand where passersby would buy, knowing there was no fresher product. With that money, we would go to the movies in a nearby town. Nowadays, shellfish harvesting is strictly prohibited.
All the best, Anton.
