A really lovely example of a wild flower meadow. Enjoy it while you can, Keith. The folks who are in charge will soon cut it all down to make good hay, and the seeds will drop[ to the ground for next year.

Opening these fields to the public is an annual event here. The sunflowers are grown primarily for their seeds (for bird food) and the petasl from the wild flowers are dried and sold as confetti I think. The (sweetcorn) maze will of course be harvested to sell. Next year it will all be done again!

This year it cost £6 to visit and with the café, bar, BBQ etc it will no doubt be a nice little earner. A great example of farming diversification.

Ich mag solche Wildblumenfelder. Gut, dass mehr für die Insekten getan wird. Und für uns Fotografen ist es eine Fundgrube.
