Druid Statue (Close up) (+PiP)

Taken in Priory Park, Chichester, West Sussex. No one seems to know who the statue was supposed to be, although some people have speculated in might be of Noah. There is a plaque on the base of the statue with an inscription, which reads:
"This statue stood formerly on the conduit in South Street and was afterwards for many years in the cathedral vault of Mr William Guy, surgeon, the pupil of John Hunter and the friend of Hayley and Flaxman. it was presented to the Priory Park society by his grandson Dr William Augustus Guy of Kings College London and erected on this spot may 31 1873."
Nowadays the general consensus seems to be that it is a statue of an unknown Druidic figure. My personal theory is that it is a statue of Gandalf the Wizard :-)))
There is a view of the complete statue in the PiP.
