Jacks

Jacks
Posted for the Macro Dreams Challenges group, for the theme: Games and Puzzles. I've already posted one for that theme, so this is an extra :-)

If you have never heard of Jacks or don't know how to play it, here is a link to a short video:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwmCInS2pIM

There are lots of versions but I think this one is the easiest.

Jean Paul Capdeville, niraK68, Berny, Gudrun and 18 other people have particularly liked this photo

I loved the "how to play jacks" video. I hadn't heard of how to play that game before - it's not one that my friends wanted to play. It does look good fun, but I couldn't get back up again if I were to sit on the floor!!!!

Glad you enjoyed the video Jenny. Another game we kept indoors for when the grandchildren visited. It will be going to the charity shop soon.

I can relate to the problems with getting up and down Jenny :-))

Of course! I had heard of the game and still know how to play it! In the USA that was considered a "girl's game", while marbles were for boys. I have no idea whether that was everywhere in the country, or just where I went to school. Pick-up-Stix was also mostly a girl's game. Love this entertaining shot!

Ha, ha.............it's no longer PC to designate anything as for girls or boys nowadays :-)))

Glad you enjoyed the shot Diane and thanks for dropping in.

Thank you Jenny. I'm better at photographing it than playing it.

Nice one Keith. We used to play this a lot as kids. I like your colourful set. I still have a metal set of Jacks, except for the ball of course ;-)

Keith Burton club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne
Thank you Rosa...............I hope I brought back so memories. I think we've also got a metal set knocking about somewhere, but I thought the newer, plastic ones were better for a photo.

I read that "back in the day" the game used to be called "Knucklebones". I leave you to guess what their Jacks were made of :-))
