I love this kind of shot, showing the typical English seaside! Flavour of the month ice-cream sounds good. Might try one of those next time I'm there :)

Great composition here, Keith! What a neat concession stand too, so colorful and interesting to look at. The sky, beach, and water too, are lovely to see as well.

Thank you so much for your dear comments on my last presentation--you really know how to make me wiggle with joy when you describe why you like a picture! :) The main picture of the kayakers was originally one that I kept looking at and passing by because as it was, just didn't "have it". Amazingly, it took exactly ONE filter (from Topaz Labs' Texture Effects) to make my jaw drop and go, "HEY!!! LOOK AT THAT!!!" and suddenly the BLEH picture turned into a main image! Crazy, isn't it? Gotta love the power of a filter--or a blend of many--I have to remind myself that when I find a picture that keeps pecking at me but is junky as it was taken...that it's my prompt to dive into filter land and find the solution to make it worthy of showing to the world. I also love that you like to dabble with filters too. You are not afraid to stretch the limits either and don't have an issue with dancing into fantasy-land with a fanciful result that delights you. I am finding that as time passes, people are becoming much less rigid about what makes and "acceptable" image. How nice. I really did hate the militant undercurrent I'd feel sometimes with folks who only liked SOOTC, traditional film, or barely touched images. Naturally it's nice to get those lucky shots which need no tune up or basically none, but the majority of our photography benefits greatly with alterations of some sort.

Oh, and thanks for the note about Pumpkin, I'm glad you enjoy reading my tales about her, and yes, like mommy and feathery daughter...we're both mad hatters and delighted by it all! :D
