Getting Better

Getting Better
This week in SSC: "Take a photo that represents your "New Year's Resolution".

I don't normally do resolutions, but just for SSC my resolution this year will be to get better at my photography by getting out of my comfort zones and being more experimental.

Here I was playing around on the tabletop with some cute wooden ornaments that my sister gave me for Christmas. I was trying a little "forced perspective" since the house is smaller than the other pieces. I was also trying to get the little house illuminated while not overexposing the background which is the bright yard outside and also avoiding a reflection in the window. You can see another view of the little wooden deer and trees in the PIP.

Hopefully, things will be getting better all the time. :-)

...and for Sight and Sound:

The Beatles from their "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album (1967)

A brilliant New Yar's resolution! I like both of your photos a lot, you were successful in playing around with DoF and the exposure is spot on.
