I'm not one to be favourably impressed by the politico-macho of military shows.

But I really did hope to get a picture of the nine or ten British fighter jets storming over our house this afternoon.

However, the techno-gods must have sensed my pacific disposition and, in the one second the warplanes were visible, the gods granted me only a single shot.
