Winter's pulling back

It is nearly mid-April but, in this place, that fact doesn't
necessarily mean winter's grip is loosening much. There's still lots
of frost in the ground.
Just the same, a few days of sun and a degree or two above freezing
will soften the top soil layers and -- whoosh! -- the snowdrops are
up.
This was in our front yard yesterday afternoon.
There's been a blow-about of snow most days so far this month, and
there's a frost forecast every night for the weather-foreseeable
future. Nonetheless, the snowdrops are healthy.
