Downtown Delton

Explored #347 (10/17/2013). Thanks!
Delton'a a small village, between lakes that used to be resorts but are now mostly suburban.The town's certainly got a Central Business District--a supermarket, schools, a library, a church, a post office, bars, even a little industry--but the place lacks the row of red brick Main Street commercial buildings we usually associate with midwestern downtowns.
Four decades back my parents owned cottages on one of those lakes, so while Delton doesn't exactly feel like home, it's certainly more familiar to me than, say, Hastings.
==========
A year ago yesterday my brother unexpectedly landed in the hospital, for tests & observation, and I took this photo during a brief stop at Delton's supermarket on my way to visit him in Kalamazoo. Most of the day's photographs were taken from the hospital parking ramp, either of the lot itself or of the cemetery which neighbors the hospital campus. The best of the parking ramp pix became the 366 Snaps photo; under the thoroughly distracted circumstances, it was pretty good. This was the sort of day that kills photo-a-day projects.
==========
This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps.
Number of project photos taken: 23
Title of "roll:" Borgess
Other photos taken on 10/15/2012: none, unless you count the color snaps at the end of the 366 Snaps roll I took of the year's last daylily after returning home.
