This sort of layered landscape is pretty much my favorite photographic subject. Finding the right angle and framing can be a challenge. A bit of haze almost always helps, though I didn't have any a year ago.
==========
I've talked from time to time about making scouting trips to identify photo locations I might want to use later on. Having an inventory of possible shots sometimes makes up for the inevitable day when you waken uninspired. On one of those trips I'd spotted the sprawling and broken barn I photographed for last October 17's 366 Snaps photo. (It was more collapsed than I'd remembered it from July, which may be an indictment of my memory.) The remnant of the Jesus Saves sign rescues the too-busy picture....
We hadn't yet discovered FX's show Justified a year ago, else that might have been the photo's title.
==========
This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps.
Number of project photos taken: 9
Title of "roll:" Off Towards Lake O [that would be Lake Odessa]
Other photos taken on 10/17/2012: The Nikon 1 came along on the excursion, in an effort to capture some color. It's fair to say I wasn't happy with the results. Did get a good photo of our Linden, though.
