Easter processional float (detail) at Ubeda

Basílica de Santa Maria de los Reales Alcázares de Úbeda, Andalucia.
Holy Week sees its most glamorous celebrations in the region of Andalusia. Processions of penitents carry magnificent "Pasos" or floats with sculptures that depict different scenes from the Chrisitian writings related to the Passion of Christ or the Sorrows of Virgin Mary. Usually, the "pasos" are accompanied by Marching bands performing "Marchas procesionales" a specific type of composition devoted to the images.
