Under the Mulberry Tree
I have quite a little army of spring flowers building up under the mulberry tree. The mulberry leaves don't emerge until nearly June, so it's a perfect spot for my early spring flowers. There are at least six types of daffodils, checkered lilies, squill, hyacinth, Muscari, and tulips. Unfortunately this spring the deer decided most of these plants made for a delightful buffet, so only about half actually bloomed.

riding the thermals
Make no bones about it, these magnificent sky kings are my favorites. When they return, spring is nigh.

oops, I did it again
If I can't have spring in my gardens, I'm going to have it in my house. I've been picking up spring plants here and there to add to my garden once winter decides to leave - hyacinth, tulip, gerber daisies, and this fine hellebore. Not sure if this tag is a warning or the actual plant name...

raider
"That's the brassy one!" declared my mother, seeing this defiant raider of her bird feeders. A few months ago there was hardly a whisker of a squirrel to be seen. Today I counted seven of them in, on, and around the feeders.

vitamin p (plant shopping)
After a while, the bleak winter coupled with the pandemic begins to wear on you. At the height of the last storm I suddenly had a desperate yearning to enter a greenhouse and inhale the wonderful scents that live there. Mom and I took a trip to our favorite nursery and I came home with a little bit of cheer in a pot.

feeling frisky
After hiding inside during the height of the storm, Fargo gets out to let off some steam. He spent about twenty minutes just racing around the paddock, bucking and playing. Flea stayed inside doing what he does best...eating.
