John FitzGerald club has replied to Ulrich John clubJohn FitzGerald club has replied to The Limbo Connection clubBill Bryson spent ten years -- ten years! -- living three miles -- three miles! -- from Wymondham Abbey in Norfolk and then announced in The Road to Little Dribbling that there was "bugger all" in Wymondham. That's how reliable he is.
If you've never been to Wymondham, the Ninian Comper rood screen in the Abbey makes the trip worthwhile all by itself. And that's not all!
Sarah P. has replied to John FitzGerald clubI do like this image, it feels like an outpost in some country-western song or noir movie where a guy out of luck just got shot by his lady and is left behind to lick his wounds and sing the blues ...
John FitzGerald club has replied to Sarah P.Yes, this reminded me of a lot of the outdoor footage in D.O.A. and Panic in the Streets, except that the shots in D.O.A. usually featured Edmond O'Brien running around like a middle-distance runner in a suit. The scene in which he runs down Market Street in SF was shot without a permit, by the way, but you probably knew that.
Sarah P. has replied to John FitzGerald clubThe noble pursuit of shooting without a permit (also known as guerilla shooting) has been practiced by low-budget movies for as long as movies have existed. In my Hollywood days, it was something of a dare among my friends what they could get away with. And nowadays, with movies being shot on iphones, the permit business must have shriveled down to a puddle.

John FitzGerald club has replied to Diana Australis clubJohn FitzGerald club has replied to Ernst Doro clubHope you will have a blue sky for the weekend.
John FitzGerald club has replied to J. Gafarot clubThis a not a good advert for the falls, but it isn't meant to be. It is however, a decent fence image on a typical out-of-town industrial estate which fulfills the HFF brief perfectly.
Bill Bryson writes very amusing books but I'm not sure I'd plan my holiday itinerary based on them :-))
HFF John.................have a splendid weekend..!!
