Thanks, Sarah. I passed on the HFF group because to my mind there's no fence here. It's scaffolding. Perhaps this is a regional difference. I may reconsider -- I have bowed to the majority (and dictionaries) and posted wrought-iron fences.

Dwarfed by the construction.

Cities remind me of colonies of concrete, glass, and brick beehives, Esther -- peoplehives, I guess. The bees build them and then they live and work in them. The only difference between people and bees is that they often live in one hive but work in another.

Lines, angles, colors. And a fine geometric composition !

Thanks, Keith. Yes, fishing, as I've heard it called, is my usual street photography technique. Find a backdrop and wait. Not quite as subtle as the fishing Joel Meyerowitz does, though. Here I was looking for pedestrians and cyclists.

I've never come across Joel Meyerowitz before John and I've just had a quick look at some of his work. I've just bookmarked him for further investigation................thanks for that!
