At the show in Strøby Bastian got very interested in this toy, so I promised to buy one if he won... Under the round carpet is a rotating feather toy that moves in very intriguing ways. It changes speed and direction and even pauses for a moment, only to start again when least expected. It is produced by the Polish PetSupplies company, but a search for "Catch-Me-If-You-Can" and "cat toy" should bring up agents near you. Not my cat, but the amazing German Rex cat "Kaiser vom Hause Hamann", who won Best In Show (Gr.IV male) at the show in Strøby on both Saturday and Sunday. The curly German Rex breed is still fairly new to Scandinavia, so my friends Miiaa Gråsten and Kevin Prahl of One World cattery in Malmö were of course over the Moon with joy. On Saturday Bastian won his 5th Best In Show for Housecats (mixed breeds). The judge Ad De Bruijn really appreciated his personality and nominated him as best male for the panel. And on stage he took first over a lovely tortie female. Video from the show: Bastian at the Cat Show . On Sunday Bastian did not win nomination, but ended as an honorable runner-up after the very seasoned show cat Gold Nugget. Only fair as both are equally good cats - and also because Nugget's owner has announced his retirement from the shows after a great career. Caithlin is a bit tired of shows at the moment, so I only took her there on Saturday. On November 4th 2008 we adopted an 8 year old shelter cat that has left ever lasting paw prints in our family.
