a gentle ride for the hobo clown

It's a sunny day in 1948. We're in the Boxcar City section of the circus grounds. We see Emmett Kelly, hobo clown par excellence, shufflin' in the grass, practicin' his bit with the broom. All of a sudden--oh no! one of the juvenile Tyrannosaurs has escaped from her pen...she's got Mr. Kelly in her fearsome jaws!
No, wait a minute...it's all part of the entertainment...she's trained to do this! She deposits him gently on top of the boxcar, where he scoots over next to a pretty girl with a parasol.
Gee...isn't the circus swell?
Cut-paper collage postcard. Emmett Kelly from Taschen's The Circus. Dinosaur is actually an Aucasaurus, from Dorling Kindersley's Prehistoric Life.
