Ries Meteorite Crater Geopark.

View northwards over Ofnethöhlen quarry and the village of Riesbürg. The rising ground on the left is the start of the main crater rim. The hill in the middle with the Ofnethöhlen quarry is part of the 'mega-block' zone of allochtonous rocks shunted laterally by the force of the meteorite impact. The flat-topped hill on the skyline is the Ipfberg, a bronze- and iron-age hill fort near the town of Bopfingen.

I've often been to this place as a kid, my grandmother lived in Nördlingen! In the caves they found stone age burials and a roman villa was excavated nearby.
