View to Craigyfulfran, just north of Aberystwyth, Sîr Ceredigion

Originally uploaded for the Guesswhere UK Group.
This is a view of the wave-cut platform and cliffs beneath Constitution Hill, Aberystwyth, Sîr Ceredigion. The wedge-shaped rock stack just left of centre is Craigyfulfran - Cormorant Rock, well named, as coromorants gather there to roost and breed.
The rocks are part of the Aberystwyth Grits of Silurian age (Llandovery) and form a well-developed turbidite sequence of dark silty shales alternating with paler sandstones and gritstones.
