Late Medieval gatehouse (15th C.) of the abbey - HBM

The village is built around the Abbey of Notre-Dame du Bec (11th C.). Today, a community of Benedictine monks still occupies the premises. At first glance, the Saint-Nicolas tower (15th C.) stands out, a square construction of more than 11 m in Anglo-Norman style (former bell tower).

PORTERIE DE STYLE MEDIEVAL TARDIF (15ème siècle) DE L’ABBAYE . Le village est construit autour de l'Abbaye Notre-Dame du Bec (XIème siècle). Aujourd'hui, une communauté de moines bénédictins occupe toujours les lieux. Au premier abord se dégage la tour Saint-Nicolas (XVème s.), une construction carrée de plus de 11 m de côté, de style anglo-normand qui servait de clocher. Auf den ersten Blick ist der Saint-Nicolas-Turm (15. Jh.) zu erkennen, eine quadratische Konstruktion von mehr als 11 m im anglo-normannischen Stil, die als Glockenturm diente.
