Oui c'est correct, Christa. Le mot washhouse veut dire un bâtiment ou une dépendance dans lequel on lave des vêtements. En Écosse il y a une phrase 'the talk of the steamie', qui décrit quelqu'un (ou quelque chose) qui est sujet de commérages ou de scandale. Amitiés, Joe

Probablement parce que dans le temps les lavoirs étaient un lieu de rencontre important, et en lavant leurs linges, les lavandières ont partagé les derniers potins.... Amicalement, Christa

Je comprends tout à fait, si tu viens du Morbihan ou si tu es même Vannetais, c'est un lieu "magique" - même pour ceux qui ne sont que des visiteurs....
