Diese Tour war nach inzwischen 12 Jahren mit insgesamt 360 Touren in 150 Klettersteigen ein meilenstein. 100.000 weitere Klettermeter werden sich in diesem Leben wohl nicht mehr ausgehen, aber Schluss ist noch lange nicht.

After 12 years with a total of 360 adventures in 150 via ferrata routes, a milestone was celebrated on October 1, 2023: 100,000 metres of climbing ! The same distance won't happen again in this lifetime. But the end is still a long way off. The picture was taken on the Via Ferrata Pfeilspitzwand (250 metres of climbing, difficulty 'C/D') in the Zillertal (Tyrol, Austria). My wife and a friend accompanied me. ~~~~~ Nach inzwischen 12 Jahren mit insgesamt 360 Touren in 150 Klettersteigen stand am 1. Oktober 2023 die Feier eines Meilensteins an: 100.000 Klettermeter ! Noch mal dieselbe Distanz wird sich in diesem Leben nicht mehr ausgehen. Aber Schluss ist längst noch nicht. The via ferrata Pfeilspitzwand rises steeply above the valley floor. Below you can see the hikers' car park, the river Ziller and the road leading to Mayrhofen . Hard to make out are the tracks of the Zillertal Railway right next to the car road. In the older pictures from 2017, the railway is better visible (see below) ~~~~~ Die Pfeilspitzwand erhebt sich steil über dem Talgrund. Unten sieht man den Wanderparkplatz, den Fluss Ziller und die Straße, die nach Mayrhofen führt. Schwer zu erkennen sind die Gleise der Zillertalbahn direkt neben der Autostraße. Auf den älteren Bildern aus 2017 ist die Bahn besser zu erkennen:

There are about 170,000 cattle in Tyrol , 64,000 of which are dairy cows (Statistic Austria, 2022). Now, in autumn, farmers send them once again across the meadows to eat the last of the grass. ~~~~~ In Tirol gibt es rund 170.000 Rinder, wovon 64.000 Milchkühe sind (Statistik Austria, 2022). Jetzt im Herbst schicken die Bauern sie noch einmal über die Wiesen, damit sie dort das letzte Gras fressen. ~~~~~ ~~~~~ Tour map with PoV's:

A good half of the Kaiser Circumnavigation (55 km) has been completed - always on cycle paths that lead past idyllic places. Fortunately, there has been no hype here like in Hallstatt oder Vermont . ~~~~~ Gut die Hälfte der Kaiserumrundung (55 km) ist geschafft - immer auf Radwegen, die an idyllischen Orten vorbeiführen. Ein Hype wie in Hallstatt oder Vermont ist hier bisher glücklicherweise ausgeblieben. ~~~~~ ~~~~~ Tour map with PoV's:
