Fantastischer Blick, da wirkt der Weg auf den Hauptgipfel gar nicht so schwierig. Kann man den auch alleine (ohne Bergführer) machen?

Die zweite Spitze im Bild links müsste dann der kleine W. oder die Watz(mann)frau sein!?

Die zweite Spitze ist der kleine Watzmann (2.307m).

Der im Bild zu sehende Aufstieg bis zum Hocheck ist bergsteigerisch noch einfach. Es ist eher eine Wanderung, allerdings in dünner Luft! Man wird immer wieder vom Körper daran erinnert, dass der Sauerstoff für das Alltagstempo nicht reicht.

Hinter dem Hocheck - also über den Grat - wird's dann deutlich schwieriger. Wenn man ausreichend hochalpine Erfahrung hat und schwindelfrei ist, kann man auch ohne Bergführer gehen. Ganz wichtig sind a) stabile Wetterverhältnisse und b) ausreichend Kondition! Vor allem letzteres. Mein Rat wäre: vorher mit gleich langen Routen üben, die weniger extrem sind und Notausstiege haben.
