Bowled Over ...
Another from the series of shots I took for The Sunday Challenge, which had the theme of At The Market, but which also extended to cover shop displays.

Like the shot I entered at the time entitled Jealous Heart this bowl was seen and photographed in Origins on the High Street, which has loads of stunning and interesting items of homeware.

I thought it was an orb.. or that is what my mind wants it to be! this perspective is killin' me.. are we looking straight down into the bowl? is it an orb with the subject as the background?, does the bowl have a different coloured 'ring' in it?
this is a beautiful piece of abstract art Paul, I rather think this would fetch a pretty penny in some snooty art institute!

Just an ordinary, but rather nicely detailed bowl with a white lip sitting on a similarly patterned mat. The shot was taken as you rightly guessed from right above it. Anyway, glad you like it Wendi and you've made my day with your comment about the art institute! :)

ahh I see, if the mat was different then the bowl lip would have stood out more.
