Jaguar C-Type - C990 NNU - Details Unknown
The Jaguar C-Type is a racing sports car built by Jaguar and sold from 1951 through until 1953. The car used the running gear of the contemporary XK120 in a lightweight tubular frame and aerodynamic aluminium body.

I've been unable to find any official records of this particular car so, given that only 53 C-Types were built, I'm thinking it might even be a replica.

Yep ... I love old race cars! They have a lot of character ... since most were built by real characters! :-) The new ones all look the same ... except for the decals!

There were not many about as you say, many of them were raced by people such as Ivor Bueb in club race meetings at Goodwood and Brands Hatch, and the BARC 3 hours.
This car model was of course forerunner to the classic D Type.
