Thanks. Now know what bokeh is and yes it works well. I think it was because the sun was starting to set, it seemed to make the lighting more interesting and bring the colours out.

Great bokeh in the background, and it really makes the sharpness of the flower stand out.

In truth I'd have liked the flower a little sharper, but it is what it is! Thanks for the encouragement though!

Just to say I've been blown away by the response to my first couple of submissions to The Sunday Challenge. I was joking earlier that if they keep attracting interest I might even make it onto Explore with one of them. Then, would you believe I've just been browsing through What's Hot on Explore and seen both of my photos featured.

Have to admit though I'm just a little disappointed not to have finally made it there with a car shot, but they just don't seem to get the same number of hits no matter how good I might think an image is.

Seems there's more interest in cute puppies and big blooms!

Anyway, a big thank you to everyone for their comments, faves and words of encouragement.

I agree with you on the car shots. Not many of mine get many look-sees, either. I guess it's a gearhead thing and not as many people like car pictures as they do kittens and sunsets.

Think you've hit the nail on the head as they say. Might be different in that other place as the motoring community is much more established, but on ipernity we're far too few in number ... hopefully that'll change eventually! :)
