1962 Vauxhall Cresta PA - 690 GOP
The Vauxhall Cresta was first introduced in 1954 by Vauxhall Motors as an upmarket version of the Vauxhall Velox (itself a six-cylinder version of the Vauxhall Wyvern).

The PA Cresta is probably the most well-known version. It mimicked the American fashion for giant tail fins, wrap-around windows and white-wall tyres but in a somewhat understated way compared to the Cadillac and Buick models of the time.

Thanks Norm. I read a piece on wiki about it that said they were very similar to the 1955 Packard Caribbean, but can't say I think they're hugely alike especially as they all appeared to be convertibles.

I don't have either car's specifications, but I'd think the Packard would be longer and a little wider car. When I first saw the photo I thought it had design elements similar to Packard and Lincoln during that time period. Considering both cars I had in mind were 1955s ... it looks like they were Vauxhall inspired! :-)

I think the author of the piece must have been thinking of the front end, mainly the lights and grille, as those are the only areas I can see any great similarity with the car in question.
