The light was perfect and the ice was finally off the pond. This Horned Grebe gave me several poses. He came up very close.

I was just lining up a shot and they suddenly took off. This is the best I could do in the blink of an eye.

They are rapidly changing colour and the snow is still here.

The Easter Bunny site locator is having a difficult time in our neighbourhood finding good places to hide eggs. Snow, no flowers and cold are challenging them this Easter. See PIP for another unimpressed bunny on the advance team. In our city, the Easter Bunny has been declared an essential service for the purposes of the pandemic.

I was having some selective colour fun and then my cat gave out a good big yawn. I wish he would do this when I need to give him his pill.

Saturday Self-challenge: Collections or hobbies. My wife spent her spring break to indulge her creative side.

Saturday Self-challege. Indoor still life. We look at the cleaning supplies differently these days. From prioritizing a presentable home to now, where it is a matter of life and death.

There is still a lot of snow here. These fellows are starting to change colours. The snow better leave soon so they are not exposed. First day of Spring. In my backyard.

Saturday Self-challenge: Architecture PIP is a more interesting building in our city. It is a swimming pool. I found a great place to socially distance myself this morning. The low sun was casting long shadows. Here is a condominium in my neighbourhood. We live in the suburbs and everything looks like this. It is the second day of Spring and it was -11C and felt like -18C. It will warm up to just over 0 today.

Saturday Self-challenge: Make something look surreal. See note for what I used as a backdrop. The snowbank was created this week by a snow removal machine that was clearing the cul-de-sac by our house. The figure is from Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of Grand Jatte."

Snow clearing equipment came through this week to clear our cul-de-sac of snow. A few days ago this was much larger but the warmer temperatures shrunk it a bit.
