The new underground train station in Stuttgart was sold to gullible people as costing a maximum of 4,5 billion and being finished by 2021. Now costs are up to 7,6 billion and Deutsche Bahn is quoting 2024 as opening date but internally already planning with 2026. Expect a further rise in costs and an even later opening date;-) Meanwhile local trains are struggling with delays due to lack of investment in existing infrastructure...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuttgart_21

Die Zahlen hat doch nicht mal die Bahn geglaubt, die hat nur getan als ob und die Gegner beschimpft, die schon immer die höheren Zahlen genannt hatten. Auch der Bundesrechnungshof kommt auf 10 Mrd., aber es wurde immer munter noch mehr Geld verbuddelt.

Thanks a lot, Diane! It's the equivalent indeed, with one exception- Wiily's airport is outside of Berlin whereas S21 is a big open wound in the middle of our town affecting everything around it.

Lol, und viel teurer wär's auch nicht! Man könnte die beiden Baustellen auch unter "Naturschutz" stellen, nach dem Einstellen der Bauarbeiten würde das sicher ein Eidechsen-Paradies;-) Womöglich hat sich im BER ja schon eine geschützte Art angesiedelt...
