Gerðuberg (3xPiP)
Gerðuberg is a several hundred metres long cliff of columnar basalt on Snæfellsnes peninsula. The individual columns are up to 15m high and 1,5 m wide.

Gerðuberg ist eine mehrere hundert Meter lange Klippe aus Säulenbasalt auf der Snæfellsnes-Halbinsel. Die einzelnen Säulen sind bis zu 15m hoch und 1,5m breit.

Herzlichen Dank, Heide! Die Basaltsäulen stehen schon Tausende Jahre, auch wenn sie bröckeln, werden sie sicher nochmal so lange stehen:-)

Schon eine sehr interessante Landschaft. Finde es immer noch erstaunlich, daß die Lava in solchen sechseckigen Säulen erstarrt ist.
