Landegode Fyr

Landegode Lighthouse with Lofoten Islands in the background. Visibility needs to be good to see the Lofoten chain across 80 km broad Vestfjorden.
Landegode Fyr was built in 1901/02 and automated in 1988. The 29m high tower is made of iron, its light can be seen for 33 km. Since 1999 the lighthouse is a protected site, the houses around it are used as a hotel.

Yes, I suppose though that the Lightbox view achieves that to some extent, but you're right that "See All Sizes" can provide an even better experience depending on how large the original upload was! :)

Danke vielmals, Aleks! Muss er, da ist es oft sehr stürmisch:-) Deswegen steht da auch ein hoher Leuchtturm, damit man ihn über den berüchtigten Vestfjord weit sehen kann. Das ist in Norwegen sonst nicht die Norm, meist reichen niedrige Leuchtfeuer.

You'd need a deep purse I suspect;-) In good weather this must be a perfect place, they probably have boats to take you from the skerry to the larger island and there are plenty of sea eagles around.

Besten Dank, Berny! Die Fähre nach Moskenes fährt auf der anderen Seite von Landegode vorbei, da sieht man den Leuchtturm nicht. Das Hotel dürfte nicht ganz billig sein: www.skagen-hotel.no/no
