Cooking With Crisps (2), c1950

"Banana Splits: 4 bananas, Apricot jam, crushed Smith's Potato Crisps, whipped cream for topping.
"Peel bananas. Brush with a thick coating of apricot jam. Coat with crisps. Pipe cream on each banana. Place a teaspoonful of jam in a paper forcing bag, remove tip of bag, pipe jam on cream. Serve immediately."
You can see the pie down below crying a river of sympathy tears for its fruity friends.
Originally posted to flickr on Jan. 29th, 2011, making it probably my very first post over there. Still embarrassed, too. But what's done (to a crisp) is done. :P

"crying a river of sympathy tears for its fruity friends"
Love it.
amylsacks club has replied to Deborah Lundbech clubIf so, I've seen it. Probably on www.awfullibrarybooks.net
amylsacks club has replied to Deborah Lundbech clubMostly it was haddock and white sauce. Kind of tuna-casserole-ish but also with that Devil's Tower move at the end where you inexplicably "frost" it with mashed potatoes which you've added crushed crisps to, then sculpt it into a mountain...? (No picture of it in the booklet, thank God.)
I remember it well. : )
