Capoterra - Flamingos

For me, born in Northern Europe, these birds were icons of exotism, when I was young. I knew storks from my neighbourhood, but they were noisy and just black an white,. The pink flamingos, I saw in books, seemed to be much more elegant.
I watched them, sitting on the balcony of my hotel room. They indeed made no noise and waded very elegantly. Watching their slow moves somehow seemed to be very relaxing. But that could as well be caused by the bottle of rosé I had on the table.
I just learned recently that a colony of famingos has settled some years ago in a fenny area between Germany and the Netherlands. These "most northern" flamingos even have an own (German) website
