OK, I was chatting with Christine, over in my articles section under the 'File Under Craft Behind Art' article, about 'Fixing" charcoal drawings by brushing spar varnish on the back letting it soak through. then hanging and letting it air dry . This is the 'fixed' charcoal drawing.
As you can see, I also cut a mat for it and matted it.
Yes, I know it's standard, one might say obligatory, practice to have the largest section of the mat at the bottom, not the top, but since I paint, draw, sketch, and mat purely for my own pleasure, not for profit, nor posterity, I figure I can mount it however my fancy strikes me. -grin-
