枝の鳥は月にウサギを見て...
Eda no tori wa tsuki ni usagi o mite...
(which, at least, comes close to saying: The bird on the branch sees the rabbit in the moon...)
OK twix a couple of electronic translators, help from Japanese friend, English/Japanese dictionaries, etc., etc., I ended up with the title above for this picture. Parenthetical aside; (In Japan they see, instead of a man in the moon, a rabbit in the moon.)
Soft pastels on 12 by 12 inch colored card stock.
