This statue is very photographed often by visiting students who have probably visited the identical one in the Peace Garden in Hiroshima which I suspect is without the wire mesh, broken bench and some sort of wooden box !!!
I would have used this shot but editing out the wire mesh was beyond my abilities

The display of a thousand metal butterflies at Coventry Cathedral is a fundraising event by the local hospices, surely a local fencing company would have been happy to donate a decorative fence to enhance the display.
