The Hawes Pier beacon, South Queensferry. [listed :- canmore.org.uk/site/90334/south-queensferry-hawes-pier-beacon ]
Now almost surrounded by the modern lifeboat house & other buildings.
IIRC Hawes Pier was the departure point for the ferry across the Firth.

I saw a comment suggesting that the sandstone of this 19th century lighthouse was heavily weathered. To me, however, the regularity of the pockmarks suggests that these depressions were originally shallow decorative pits.
