High up on the wall by the Harbourmaster's Office is the North Berwick Harbour Barometer.
It was installed circa 1950 by NH Butterworth, the Commodore of the East Lothian Yacht Club, and restored in 2021 by the Harbour Trust. [see next image for more details - from the info display]

The Hawes Pier beacon, South Queensferry. [listed :- canmore.org.uk/site/90334/south-queensferry-hawes-pier-beacon ]
Now almost surrounded by the modern lifeboat house & other buildings.
IIRC Hawes Pier was the departure point for the ferry across the Firth.

Extreme weathering of exposed sandstone, once the "hard surface" has been penetrated in some way; note the honeycombing and inclusions. Plus the spiderwebs.
[the layer above is heavily weathered concrete / lime mortar made with "beach aggregate"]
gbw - rock not known

Recently found several pieces of this rock on the foreshore at Parton, Cumbria.
The red strands look like fossil seaweed, and the background might be sandstone ? No idea what the rock actually is, but probably not that "local" as it is part of the sea defences.
I'm sure I've seen the darker red "lumps" in another context, also on sandstone.

The sandstone used to build the West Pier at Whitehaven has a number of interesting inclusions. Quartzite and ironstone, in the main. More or less distinct signs of "current bedding" are visible on some of the stones.
whn - west pier capstan

Capstan (remains) pulley block and mooring bollard on the west pier, Whitehaven. The sets of railing protect sets of steps, some of which are rather worn and require greater care. To the left is the route of the pier railway, showing as the surface has been cut away into a channel for the track alignment.
rmf - coal sample

Found on the south beach at Whitehaven. A small amount of coal, in a very thin seam between layers of sandstone. Could be described as "sea coal" but also as an interesting example of geology.

Sandstone turret on the New Old Quay at Whitehaven, showing some quite extensive weathering. But having seen some of the recent storms - possibly erosion as well from wave action, despite the height.
