K1 at the crossing

The original Beyer Garratt, K1, which was supplied to the Tasmanian Government Railways in 1909 for use on the North East Dundas Tramway. Repatriated by Beyer Peacock in 1947 the locomotive was restored to steam in 2004 and used to an extent on the Welsh Highland Railway. After its boiler certificate expired in 2014 it had to wait until 2020 when it was overhauled by the Statfold Barn Railway where it is likely to remain for a few years with a few excursions to Wales. It is seen here approaching the footpath crossing out in the fields at Statfold Barn during a 30742 Charters event.
