Miles Knoll kiln


Not all limekilns are massive stone structures. The Peak District and Staffordshire Moorlands have many more examples of intermittent earthen kilns. This one sits largely unnoticed in a field next to the Leek to Ashbourne Road at the top of the climb eastwards out of Waterhouses.
