A day at the races

We went lurcher racing the other day. Jefferson had his usual afternoon thinking he was in heaven and took part in three races. He is seen here, on the left of the leading pair, coming a good second in the quarter mile dash. This is definitely his best distance.
Niamh had her first race ever and came last in the 250m sprint. Now Niamh doesn't do last and had a good think about this before her second race in which she set off immediately across the infield to meet the lure and the rest of the pack as they came around the top bend. The result was that the race was stopped and she had to be given the 'walk of shame' and removed from the field! Oh well, some dogs are too clever for their own good. :-))
