Actually, this beautiful Great Gray Owl didn't manage to catch anything this time when it dove down into the snow-covered grasses. Always amuses me to see the look they give when they think they have caught something - they look around with a certain look on their face, as if checking that there is nothing and no-one nearby who might grab their catch from them. This sudden dive took me by surprise, as it was quite close. Seen NW of Calgary on 28 March 2013.
