When my thoughts turn to summer

It's -18C just before noon today, so perhaps I should have posted a much brighter flower for today. Rudbeckia, right? This was taken in the garden at the Calgary Zoo on 1st September 2011. It caught my eye, as it was different from all the yellow flowers of the same kind around it. We had maybe 1-2" of snow overnight, just enough to cover all the treacherous build up of ice and hide it from unsuspecting walkers : ) They are expecting a high of -24C on Tuesday. Don't like to think what it will feel like with windchill.
We know Crows are intelligent - take a look at this Russian Crow who used the lid from a jar to do some fun roof-surfing in the snow! Seen on Facebook/YouTube.
