The look

I was standing maybe 6-8 feet from this Great Gray Owl the other day, in the aviary at the Calgary Zoo. Hard to describe the feeling you get when you find yourself staring deep into the eyes of one of these owls, with nothing between it and you. I have seen these owls in the wild several times, but never up close like this.
