Quite liked this border I found on one of the 'Digital Photo' magazine cd's so thought I would add it :-)
I think this might have started off life as a yellow rose and I also I think it may have got itself included in my Watch Orb www.ipernity.com/doc/292367/34464457

Time for a candid, methinks :-)
'They' say you should always have a bit of red in a shot :-)
So, I must be onto a winner here :-)
And, I was toying with the idea of searching Amazon for some similar trainers :-)
Rotunda, Stowe Landscape Gardens

The Rotunda contains a copy of the Medici Venus. Venus was the Roman goddess of love and beauty.
Also, the Rotunda stands in the middle of Stowe Golf Course next to the 17th tee!! Hence the red markers! There were also some white markers but I didn't like them in my shot so they have been cloned out :-))

The obvious link here would, of course, be The Rolling Stones. However, I don't know why it is when I look at stuff on YouTube there are always inappropriate comments made by a minority!! Until I find a link that is suitable we'll have to go with Sheryl Crow singing this classic track!
Gripe over!!

The Temple of Music
From Wikipedia -
“The Temple of Music is on an island in the lake, inspired by the Temple of Vesta in Rome. It was designed for Dashwood's fêtes champêtres, with the temple used as a theatre; the remains of the stage survive.”

I think this would be the 'Front Quadrangle'
From the College website -
"Merton College, the first fully self-governing College in the University, was founded in 1264 by Walter de Merton, sometime Chancellor of England and later Bishop of Rochester. Mob Quadrangle, the oldest quadrangle in the University, was built in three phases: the Treasury c.1288-91, the north and east ranges and the Sacristy c.1304-11, and the Library on the south and west sides 1373-8. Mob Library is the oldest continuously functioning library for university academics and students in the world. The Gatehouse dates from the early fifteenth century, when Henry V granted a royal 'license to crenellate', which allowed for the construction of the battlement tower above the present-day lodge."
Ivinghoe Beacon

From Wikipedia -
“Ivinghoe Beacon is a prominent hill and landmark in the Chiltern Hills, standing 233m (757ft) above sea level. It is situated close to the village of Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire, the Ashridge Estate, and the villages of Aldbury and Little Gaddesden in Hertfordshire and is managed and owned by the National Trust. Ivinghoe Beacon lies between the towns of Dunstable in Bedfordshire, and Berkhamsted and Tring in Hertfordshire. It is the starting point of the Icknield Way to the east, and the Ridgeway long-distance path to the west.”
'Tis a good job I kept an 'eye' on where the car park was....'cos I might still be walking on one of those paths :-)

The Steve Miller Band classic “Fly Like An Eagle” includes the line “Time Keeps On Slipping Slipping Slipping Into The Future”. And, is it clever of me to link this to my 'Orb Watch' ????????
Originally, I was going to link this to "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" by Sandy Denny but, believe it or not, we 'wos' in a shop earlier today and they were actually playing "Fly Like An Eagle" :-)))

Thanks to interest shown by Mick www.ipernity.com/home/631051 'Soundtrack Weekend' is up and running again :-))

I have been looking for a reason to upload this shot and it suddenly hit me.......... “the guy is wearing blue jeans and surely 'Forever in Blue Jeans' was a song”.
Anyway, it wasn't too difficult for me to find out that Neil Diamond recorded this song way back in 1979 and Wikipedia confirmed this for me and said “"Forever in Blue Jeans" is a song by Neil Diamond which was co-written with his guitarist Richard Bennett. This up-tempo track, released as a single by Columbia in February 1979, was taken from the previous year's Neil Diamond album You Don't Bring Me Flowers. The song officially peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #2 on the Easy Listening chart in March, 1979. According to Cotton Incorporated "Neil Diamond might have been right when he named his 1979 #1 hit “Forever in Blue Jeans”: 81% of women are planning their next jeans purchase to be some shade of blue." The song has been used to promote the sale of blue jeans, most notably Will Ferrell, impersonating Neil Diamond singing, for The Gap. Coincidentally, Diamond himself did radio ads for H.I.S. brand jeans in the 1960s, more than a decade before he sang this song.”
Incidentally, I have just noticed that the lady is also wearing blue jeans. Don't know why I didn't notice this 'til now and her wearing blue jeans as well is an amazing coincidence :-)

I'm thinking this is likely to be St. Alban's Quadrangle. That being the case it is of 13th Century origin incorporated into Merton College in 1882.
I remember the occasion very well :-))
From a College information leaflet -
"Merton College is one of the oldest Foundations in the University of Oxford. In 1264 Walter de Merton, Chancellor of England and Bishop of Rochester, established Merton as the first College; a self-governing corporate community with a Warden at its head. The buildings and communal spaces that made up Merton College reflect the activities of Tutors and the Students living, eating, studying and worshipping together. Although many of these buildings are now historic they continue to be used daily."
p.s. I don't very often think to look at my photos on black but I think this one actually looks a little better on black :-)

Mick's super shot of 'Cookie' www.ipernity.com/doc/631051/34011387 reminded me of the effectiveness of colour popping and Mick rightly said there are peeps out there who do absolutely mind-blowing selectives! I don't think I have sufficient patience to do the complicated ones so I figured out that the wheel in this shot ought to be fairly straightforward to tackle :-) Umm........ok........up to a point, but the wheel being partly obscured did try my patience a little :-) Think that next time I will choose a shot where the whole wheel is visible :-)

Here comes a slightly vague/tenuous link, in need of an explanation I think, for Soundtrack Weekend :-))
I do believe this is a Ford Model B Roadster and I do know for sure I took the shot at the Kop Hill Climb in 2013 :-)
The song 'Drive South' written by John Hiatt recorded by him on his 1988 album 'Slow Turning' includes the following lines -
“Though love's not earned, Baby it's our turn
We were always looking for true north
With our heads in the clouds, just a little off course
I left the motor running, now if you're feeling down and out
Come on Baby drive south, with the one you love
Come on Baby drive south, with the one you love
Windows open on the rest of the world
Holdin' hands, all the way to Dixieland”
In 1992, Suzy Bogguss recorded the song for her album 'Voices in the Wind' her first release on Liberty Records.
I do not know the lady in the car but I could imagine cruising down to Dixieland in a Ford Model B Roadster :-)))
The following link is John & Suzy performing the song live way back in 1994 -
